Finding the perfect pair of glasses that are both stylish and functional without breaking the bank has always been a quest for me. My old frames, bless their heart, had seen better days by late 2024, and the thought of another hefty bill from a brick-and-mortar optician filled me with dread. I was tired of feeling limited by exorbitant prices and a meager selection. What I really craved was something fresh, something that reflected my personality, and most importantly, something I could afford. I'd seen countless ads online for various eyewear companies, promising convenience and savings, and a few friends had even raved about their online purchases. That nagging feeling of needing an upgrade, coupled with a desire to explore more fashionable options, finally pushed me to start looking. I knew there had to be a better way to buy eyewear than the traditional route.

My journey to find new frames led me down a rabbit hole of online optical shops. I spent hours comparing styles, prices, and—crucially—reading customer reviews. I cross-referenced designs, checked virtual try-on tools, and scrutinized return policies. What ultimately drew me to Cinily Eyewear was their impressive collection of unique frames, particularly the KANSEPT Acetate Round Prescription Eyeglasses. The sleek, round design and acetate finish promised a blend of retro charm and modern lightness that perfectly matched what I envisioned. While I browsed, I did come across some critical reviews, which always make me pause. One particular review stood out, detailing a frustrating experience with delivery and customer service:

“This place is nothing more than an automated business that cares nothing about its customers. They are a fraud, ripping customers off for services that they charge for and do NOT provide. I ordered twice from them before, without any need to return or exchange, so I never understood the negative reviews. The third time I ordered, their site said “eligible for next day delivery”. That would typically mean “next day”, right? So, I pay for the $19.95 next day delivery fee, pay for my glasses and hours later receive an email stating that “my order is in process and will take 3 business days”. Where is next day? Wait…it doesn’t stop there. I call their toll free line…automated…no human intervention. I try their “live chat”…automated bot. I email both their customer service and returns department asking for a refund of my $19.95 next day delivery fee since it’s clearly not meeting the requirements…crickets. I call their toll free number back and keep going through the menu and trying different options. I try the one that asks if I want to place an order…bingo, I get a human. So I propose my issue to that person and after several moments on hold I get told “I will submit your request to the billing department and it will be up to them”. Ummm, nope…you’re not providing a service that I paid for…refund my money. Agent wasn’t hearing that and ended the call. Horrible business. Horrible customer service. Everything is automated and forces you to interact with a live chat bot or an endless phone system that they hope you’ll just give up on from pure frustration. I will NEVER do business with this place again and will spread this review like the plague. Update 02-24-2025: Order placed 02-18, Label created 02-20 (not shipped as they stated), UPS in possession of package 02-21, Item in transit 02-22, Item delivered 02-24. Not “next day delivery” as their site clearly stated. Nothing to “produce” as the glasses had “Plano lenses” with no prescription so still not sure of the delay in “production”. Still would not recommend this company based on their lack of replies to 6 emails requesting help. Their sugar coated response is lack luster and a poor attempt to cover up their extremely lacking customer service. Purchase elsewhere and avoid the issues that so many are having with this company." To this, Cinily Eyewear responded: "Hi Michael, We’re sorry to hear that you experienced difficulties with your glasses order and thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. It appears that there was an issue while producing your glasses and your order was shipped two days after you had placed it. Meanwhile, a refund for the shipping cost was issued. We appreciate your feedback. Recently, we improved our self-service to make it easier for our customers to access it 24/7. Michael’s experience was definitely a red flag, but the company’s follow-up, acknowledging the issue and stating a refund was issued, gave me a glimmer of hope that they do try to resolve problems. I decided to proceed, choosing standard shipping over any expedited options to manage my expectations, placing my order for the KANSEPT frames in late 2024. My anticipation grew with each passing day. The package arrived within the estimated timeframe, roughly a week later, well before I needed them in early 2025. Unboxing was a pleasant surprise; the glasses came in a sturdy, sleek case, far better than the flimsy ones I've received from other places. The frames themselves were even more beautiful in person, with a subtle sheen to the acetate and a perfectly balanced weight that felt premium. The initial fit was fantastic, snug but not tight, and the lenses were crystal clear. It was a moment of genuine relief and excitement, feeling like I’d found exactly what I was looking for.

In daily use, the KANSEPT Acetate Round Prescription Eyeglasses have truly shined. The ultralight design means I often forget I’m wearing them, which is a huge plus for someone who wears glasses all day. The clarity of the prescription lenses is impeccable, and I haven't experienced any distortion or discomfort, even during long hours of screen time. It gives me confidence that should an issue arise in the future, they would work towards a resolution.

Overall, my experience with Cinily Eyewear and the KANSEPT frames has been overwhelmingly positive. Despite initial reservations fueled by some of the more critical customer reviews, my own journey from selection to daily wear has been excellent. The product delivered on its promise of quality and style at a fantastic price point. While there are clearly areas for improvement in customer service responsiveness for some (as highlighted by Michael Oakes's detailed account), my personal order went off without a hitch.
